چکیده

The USLE and the RUSLE are two common erosion prediction models that used worldwide, soil erodibility (K-factor) is one parameter to calculate them. objectives of this study were investigate variability soil-erodibility factors under different soil-texture classes evaluate efficiency diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) in near-infrared range at predicting K-factors using a partial least squares regression analysis. was conducted Fluvisols dry tropical forest (the Caatinga). Sampling undertaken first 20 cm 80 sites distributed 15 m apart on 70 × 320 spatial grid. Results show clay fraction represented mainly by 2:1 phyllosilicates. Soil organic matter content low (<0.2%), which typical forests, reflected high values calculated K-factors. An empirical semivariogram dependence both Pedometric modeling showed DRS can be predict (R2adj = 0.53; RMSE 8.37 10−3 t h MJ−1 mm−1) 0.58; 6.78

Noninvasive prediction of glucose by near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.

BACKGROUND Self-monitoring of blood glucose by diabetics is crucial in the reduction of complications related to diabetes. Current monitoring techniques are invasive and painful, and discourage regular use. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the use of near-infrared (NIR) diffuse reflectance over the 1050-2450 nm wavelength range for noninvasive monitoring of blood glucose. METHODS Two ...

Global soil characterization with VNIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

There has been growing interest in the use of diffuse infrared reflectance as a quick, inexpensive tool for soil characterization. In studies reported to date, calibration and validation samples have been collected at either a local or regional scale. For this study, we selected 3768 samples from all 50 U.S. states and two tropical territories and an additional 416 samples from 36 different cou...

Quantitative Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy

In the field of biomedical optics, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) is a frequently used technique for obtaining information about the optical properties of the medium under investigation. The method utilizes spectral difference between incident and backscattered light intensity for quantifying the underlying absorption and scattering processes that affects the light-medium interaction. I...

Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy

The appearance of a soil results from the interaction of its different constituents with incident light. Color and various other attributes of the appearance of soil are highly sensitive to the nature, proportion, particle size and morphology, and spatial association of its mineral and organic components. In fact, color has been used for more than 75 yr to obtain information about these soil pr...

Prediction of Soil Physical and Chemical Properties by Visible and Near-Infrared Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy in the Central Amazon

Visible and near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (VIS-NIR) has shown levels of accuracy comparable to conventional laboratory methods for estimating soil properties. Soil chemical and physical properties have been predicted by reflectance spectroscopy successfully on subtropical and temperate soils, whereas soils from tropical agro-forest regions have received less attention, especial...
